General Impact Notes

Quickly became abundant on Rarotonga. Early results indicate having high impact in partially shaded thickets and less in full sun, though it is too early post release to determine overall impact.

Other Species Attacked

Minor spillover feeding recorded on the exotic cultivated Passiflora edulis Sims. During a dedicated survey, less than 2% of P. edulis stem tips exhibited larvae of Heliconius erato cyrbia, and all larvae were only immature as mature P. edulis stem tips are toxic to H. erato cyrbia.
